Whats so special about Adam Carpets?
Adam Carpets have been manufacturing luscious carpets for
over 80 years in the city of Kidderminster. In that time the brand has became
known for its gorgeous, high quality products with a vast range of colours and over
250 standard colour options. They also have 12 different qualities which
include: twist cut pile, velvet cut pile, loop pile, tip-sheared loop pile and
many more; all stocked in 4 to 5 metre widths.
There carpets consist of 80% wool and 20% nylon, creating
that perfect balance of being comfortable yet durable. All of our wool either
comes from Britain or New Zealand. This makes all of their carpets
environmentally friendly and a sustainable fibre. The advantages of wool are:
it is naturally flame retardant; it has a low propensity to soil so has good
appearance retention, very good wear properties and is easy to clean and
maintain. They have a rigorous testing procedure for every batch of carpet they
ever make.
For the past three quarters of a century these skills have
been passed down through the same family; so quality and consistency is key to
the business. They were awarded an ISO 9001 for consistently providing the
highest quality products, alongside the best possible service to our customers.
There carpets are perfect for any room in the house and can
give off a good mood which ever room you are in. Here at Kings Interiors we
have stocked Adam Carpets for as long as we can remember. They’re reliable, and
for the price... and absolute bargain for your home. With constant investment
in tufting technology, they are at the forefront of the carpet manufacturing
industry.
All of Adam Carpets are available from either our store or
to find out competitive prices you can give is a call and we will do our very
best to supply you with the perfect carpet for your home.

Why have Mirrors in your home...
There are so many reasons why you should have mirrors in your home. We have a beautiful range of mirrors here at Kings Interiors and thought we’d write about why we think you need one in every room of your house...
Space
For a start they are the best way of creating the illusion of space! They can really effectively amplify a room and make it feel a lot bigger than it actually is. A mirror reflects the room, making you think that a room is much bigger. A small or narrow room can benefit from hanging a wall mirror and having a mirror in the hallway or a bathroom can make a space look more open.
Light
A mirror also reflects light around a room. Any light in your room will be enhanced by mirrors that reflect it, making the room more light and airy, and the more light and airy a room, the more spacious it feels.
Hide
Another great use for a mirror is to hide any imperfections you may have on the walls of your home. It can be hard to find paintings or pictures that look right in your home and that suit your style and colour schemes. A mirror is a great alternative that can cover up any unsightly imperfections such as holes, paint scratches, discoloured paint, or finger marks.
Decorate
A large, decorative mirror in a room will immediately brighten it up and can create a lovely focal point. You can also use a mirror to update the look of a room in your home, to achieve a cohesive style or to bring interest in a space.
LookLast but not least, a key benefit of a mirror and arguably the most important one is its functional use. You use a mirror to look in it! You use one to check on yourself before you leave the house, to do your hair, and for all your other grooming rituals.
Many interior decorators and designers maintain that a mirror completes the look of a room. In our showrooms we display probably the largest selection of mirrors from each manufacturer in the UK. You can browse and buy online, or visit our amazing showrooms here in Nottingham. Call us for any help or advice on 0115 9455584 or email info@kingsinteriors.com.

Patterned Carpets are back!
Old-fashioned and dowdy they are no more - patterned carpet is back! We believe a pattern can brighten up even the dingiest of spaces, whether you making statement on you staircase with a slick tartan design, or styling your lounge with floral motifs. Patterned carpets are dramatic, adventurous and fun, and they are an important consideration when choosing a carpet.
Practically speaking, it can mask a multitude of spills, spots and wear. Even a subtle pattern can help to conceal any blemishes. Pattern adds detail to a room, whether it's geometric, floral or a simple check. It also brings character and complexity to the overall design.
From a contemporary take on traditional designs or to create a truly heritage impression we have a wide selection of beautiful patterns and designs for every taste and style.
From Axminster Carpets of Devon, Brintons, Ulster Carpets, Whitestone Weavers, Woodward Grosvenor and Goodacre, from traditional to Laura Ashley designs, Kings has everything you will need to transform your room. We are one of the original woven Axminster and Wilton suppliers in the country. Our knowledge of these products is second to none. Here are some examples...
This plaid collection is named after the striking castle which sits high above Connemara. The five designs are inspired by the county that the plaid represents and the warm earth colours used give the carpets a rich natural quality.
Known for their beautiful, dramatic textiles and wallpapers, Timorous Beasties began by creating rugs for Brintons. This season, for the first time, they have designed a carpet collection. Available in three widths 1, 3 and 4 metres wide, this stunning design is suitable for extra heavy domestic use.
The Laura Ashley palette of soft honeys, pinks and greens looks great in modern homes and is very easy to live with. Available in three widths 0.91 metres, 2.74 metres and 3.66 metres wide, this pretty design would look beautiful in any home.
Flooring is the cornerstone of any design scheme. Once you decide on the carpeting of a space, the wall colour, window treatment, fabrics and furnishings will all fall into place. So what is on the floor-whether it's a block colour or an elaborate pattern- will create the atmosphere for an entire room. For all your carpet needs, look no further than Kings Interiors!

Make the most of your conservatory this winter
Over the last decade conservatories have gone from being a
relatively rare “extra” found in some properties to becoming a commonplace room
where families are known to lounge together in the summertime.
Because of its greenhouse-like properties, many people still
associate conservatories with the summer alone; leaving it abandoned for most
of the winter because the temperatures are too cold to bear. However, if you
neglect the conservatory over winter you are not making the most of it the way
that you should be.
The first step to ensuring that you use your conservatory to
its maximum potential this winter is to make sure that it contains appropriate
furniture. Many people like to choose more country-inspired, woven furnishings
such as the
Lloyd Loom furniture designs found at Kings Interiors. With a focus on
kitchens and conservatories, each piece of Lloyd Loom furniture is individually
hand crafted and this is evident in the quality of their designs.
As you can see from the examples above, their neat shapes
look sophisticated while homely and would be an inviting seat that will
encourage you and your family to sit in the conservatory and enjoy its
atmosphere.
Although the room will be cold during the winter, combating
the low temperatures is no difficult feat: a simple, cheap electric heater can
be situated neatly in the corner of the room- if you switch it on in the morning
you will be impressed by how quickly the room warms up; making your
conservatory a cosy, comfortable area to sit while the outside temperatures
drop.
As well as a pleasant area to sit and read the newspaper,
many families use the conservatory as an area to dine and entertain over
Christmas. Light some candles and set the dining table for the ideal atmosphere
and be sure to add a little Christmas tree - this will make it more inviting
than ever and put you into a cheerful, Christmassy mood whenever you’re in
there.
Finally, if it is a small conservatory, add plants to it so
that there is a little extra water vapour in the air and remember to open the
window every now and then (weather permitting) for some additional ventilation.
If you follow the advice of this blog post then you will successfully make the
most of your conservatory this winter!

Period living – a revival
Furniture
aesthetics and design have been part of our living experiences since the
beginning of history. As an intimate part of our homes and lives, each piece
can invoke a new response in every individual which is why many homeowners and
interior designers choose to place importance on what pieces of furniture they
choose to surround themselves with in their homes.
As furniture
styles have progressed from art nouveu through to contemporary designs a raft
of imitation and revival styles have started to appear alongside vintage and
retro look designs.
These more
often than not have included the reappearance of Victorian and Georgian
inspired designs which have proved popular mainly for their contrasting bold
looks.
While the Victorian
style is one of plump heavily upholstered furniture, the Georgian look inspires
delicate designs with a symmetrical style.
Our range of
Chesterfield sofas at Kings offer inspired designs taken from the Victorian
style era. While the upholstery you choose to cover your chosen sofa in is
entirely your choice we have a range of swatches also inspired by the art from
Queen Victoria’s reign with bolder colour use in our Contrast designs.
Our Duresta
Connaught Sofa, available in both leather and fabric upholstery is the most
luxurious of all our Chesterfield sofas and takes part of its inspiration from
the Victorian era shown in the sofa’s round and plump appearance and heavy
upholstery.
An eclectic
mix of styles present in these designs, taken from the masculine Gothic and
feminine Rococo periods work well together and are perfect for anyone looking
for a piece of Victorian inspired furniture to flatter the rest of their home
furnishings. The optional ornamentation of wooden finishes and upholstery
piping also compliment the Victorian inspired design.
The sofa,
made from a hardwood frame, comes with duck filled seat cushions with an optional
foam core. A varied range of wood, fabric and leather designs are available to
choose from to enable our customers to work to their own tastes.
Georgian
inspired designs lay in our Contrast
upholstery winged chairs with their subtle and delicate style with slight
hints of Palladian glamour without appearing so overt that they overpower your
living room or study.
Such Georgian
inspired chairs; like these are designed to encourage the use of space and
light to create the illusion of regency and air should you prefer that
influence in your home.
Whether you
choose to keep to the original Georgian style though by opting for lighter and
paler colour schemes for your upholstery is entirely your choice. Whatever you
opt for we will attempt to cater to those tastes.
All the
Georgian inspired chairs are made in the UK using high quality standards of
workmanship, and should you choose to opt for the studded designs, these will
also be applied individually by hand.
Whatever
design period that you choose to influence your choice in sofas or chairs –
whether it’s to revive or contemporise we have a range of fabrics to suit
classic, refined, eclectic and even modern preferences.
Our range of
flooring can also be used to compliment different period influences with
carpets, wood and laminate flooring and of course rugs, we have a variety of
colours and patterns to choose from.
