Why Regular Carpet Cleaning is Necessary
In order to keep carpets fresh, clean and hygienic they require regular cleaning. Dirt from outside can cause the carpet to age considerably and also enable bacteria and mites to multiply.
Vacuuming is an important part of keeping your carpets clean. Carpets in heavy traffic areas should be vacuumed daily to keep them in prime condition.
Carpet Cleaning can be a steamy business....
In the context of carpet cleaning, The hot water extraction method "steam cleaning" seems very popular, This method uses equipment that sprays heated water, sometimes with added cleaning chemicals onto the carpet. Simultaneously, the water is vacuumed up, along with dissolved dirt. “steam cleaning” is the preferred method of many carpet manufacturers as it removes more dirt and abrasive particles resulting in less wear and pile abrasion
Portable steam cleaning equipment that plugs into an electrical outlet can be hired from many large DIY stores or alternatively go onto Google for companies that offer professional carpet cleaning service.
Carpet Cleaning ask the experts
If you have a preferred carpet supplier it may be worth speaking to them for advice on the best way to clean your carpet as different materials need different treatments, jute-backed carpets and loose rugs with natural fibers such as wool could shrink after a wet treatment, Velvet piled carpets and Berber carpets could become fuzzy if cleaned the wrong way.
It is also worth speaking to your carpet retailer at the point of purchase about pre treated carpets this is often recommended in heavy traffic areas.
Here at Kings Carpets we stock a vast range of carpets from all the major brands. For further information please call 0115 925 8347 or email us at info@kingsinteriors.com.

Make the most of your conservatory this winter
Over the last decade conservatories have gone from being a
relatively rare “extra” found in some properties to becoming a commonplace room
where families are known to lounge together in the summertime.
Because of its greenhouse-like properties, many people still
associate conservatories with the summer alone; leaving it abandoned for most
of the winter because the temperatures are too cold to bear. However, if you
neglect the conservatory over winter you are not making the most of it the way
that you should be.
The first step to ensuring that you use your conservatory to
its maximum potential this winter is to make sure that it contains appropriate
furniture. Many people like to choose more country-inspired, woven furnishings
such as the
Lloyd Loom furniture designs found at Kings Interiors. With a focus on
kitchens and conservatories, each piece of Lloyd Loom furniture is individually
hand crafted and this is evident in the quality of their designs.
As you can see from the examples above, their neat shapes
look sophisticated while homely and would be an inviting seat that will
encourage you and your family to sit in the conservatory and enjoy its
atmosphere.
Although the room will be cold during the winter, combating
the low temperatures is no difficult feat: a simple, cheap electric heater can
be situated neatly in the corner of the room- if you switch it on in the morning
you will be impressed by how quickly the room warms up; making your
conservatory a cosy, comfortable area to sit while the outside temperatures
drop.
As well as a pleasant area to sit and read the newspaper,
many families use the conservatory as an area to dine and entertain over
Christmas. Light some candles and set the dining table for the ideal atmosphere
and be sure to add a little Christmas tree - this will make it more inviting
than ever and put you into a cheerful, Christmassy mood whenever you’re in
there.
Finally, if it is a small conservatory, add plants to it so
that there is a little extra water vapour in the air and remember to open the
window every now and then (weather permitting) for some additional ventilation.
If you follow the advice of this blog post then you will successfully make the
most of your conservatory this winter!
