Who are Henderson Russell?

Back in the 19th century, Nottingham Lace was renowned the World over and the town of Long Eaton was leading the way in this field.

In the mid 20th century, lace was in decline and with that saw a real change in the town and saw a rise in upholstery designers and manufacturers. Trade continued to grow in Long Eaton and the town, at this point was known as the "UK Centre of Quality Upholstery Manufacture".

Henderson Russell, established in 1992, have designed and manufactured modern sofas and chairs that form great attention to detail. Not only did they design the soft furnishings, they also manufactured the wooden frames in their factory.

To this day, every single piece of upholstered furniture (including the wooden frame) is carefully handmade by their skilled crafts people. they employ only the best, and use high quality materials and construction methods to ensure the furniture lasts the pace of time. their fabrics are family friendly and are fully safe to be used in your home. Their quality control standards ensure that every piece of furniture is checked and inspected by their finishing department.

Henderson Russell only use materials from sustainable sources and where possible sell from local suppliers.

They don't rest on their laurels and are always working hard to research and bring together fresh and dynamic ideas. They are looking to be the first choice for those who are looking for inspired, comfortable furniture for all types of family sofas and chairs that can be used on a day to day basis.

Henderson Russell also encourage customers to supply their own fabrics. All fabrics must come with the appropriate fire retardant (FR) certificates which your fabric supplier will provide.

Henderson Russell appreciate that sometimes the customers will need their chair or sofa quickly (if they are having a party for instance) or maybe the customer is just too excited to wait, They offer an Express Delivery service across their entire range of 130 fabrics,

The bottom line is, they take a pride in what they do!

Getting Your Small Space Ready for the Holidays

Whether you’re hosting a large holiday dinner, a festive cocktail party or a casual brunch, the key to getting the most out of your space this summer is with a flexible mindset.  Use these tips to get inspired for this year’s summer activities and to plan ahead for the Christmas period:

Rearrange

Rearrange your furniture to limit crowding and ensure there’s enough space to make you and your guests comfortable. A sofa with a sturdy structure and movable backrests is perfect for a number of guests at one time. Have fun decorating your space for the holidays, but make sure there is enough room on counters, shelves, and side tables for your company to place plates of food and drinks. Think of unique solutions to maximize your space by having items serve double-duty on the day of your gathering. Try clearing off a shelf on a bookcase to create a temporary bar or snack station.

Making mealtime easy

Consider using a transforming table that can be extended to full size at mealtime to seat everyone while they eat, but can be tucked away or used for a different purpose when not in use. If you can look past the formalities of a sit-down meal, putting out a number of small plates around the room or having guests grab food buffet-style from the kitchen is a fun and social alternative to crowding around a table.
